This session will teach attendees about using single- case research designs to systematically track, analyze, and report client outcomes in counseling practice. The presenter will focus on practical data collection strategies, interpretation of results, and using outcome data to inform clinical decision-making and demonstrating treatment effectiveness.

  • Describe the core principles and purposes of single-case research designs as they apply to tracking client outcomes in counseling practice.
  • Understand the basics of single-case research design, including selecting target behaviors, collecting systematic data, and aligning measurement with treatment goals.
  • Interpret and report single-case outcome data to inform clinical decision-making and communicate treatment effectiveness to relevant stakeholders.
