Description: This educational professional development session bridges scholarship and practice by translating research on historical and intergenerational trauma into practical, trauma-responsive strategies for counselor education, supervision, and clinical work. Drawing from Dr. Cicelia M. Como’s dissertation research, participants will explore how historical trauma influences identity development, counselor wellness, supervision dynamics, and client engagement. The session emphasizes healing-centered, culturally responsive, and socially just practices that support both counselors and the communities they serve.
