2026 DMCA Presents: Cultivating Cultural Humility in Counseling: Addressing Four Roadblocks to Couns

When:  May 2, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM (CT)

Description: This presentation offers an interactive, thought-provoking, and informative learning experience designed to deepen clinicians’ understanding of cultural humility in counseling practice. Using principles from Social Learning Theory and Transformative Learning, participants will engage in reflective discussion, applied activities, and experiential learning. The session begins by assessing participants’ current understanding of cultural humility within the counselor–client relationship. Foundational concepts of cultural humility are then introduced, along with an overview of the Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC; Ratts et al., 2016), including their conceptual framework and domains.
