Each Advocacy Day begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast in the Capitol Cafeteria, followed by an orientation with resource materials, talking points and updates on bills and committee meetings. TCA staff remains in the Capitol Cafeteria throughout the day to provide support and additional resource materials and to answer questions.
We encourage you to call in advance and schedule an appointment with your Representative and Senator (or their staff) while you are in Austin. If your elected official is not available, ask to meet with the staff person who handles mental health or education issues, depending on your area of interest.Please use your personal email and your personal telephone when contacting your elected officials.
