April, 2012 -National Counseling Awareness Month TCA Texas Counseling Association, its 32 Chapters and 12 Divisions are proud to celebrate National Counseling Awareness Month. April represents a time for advocacy of professional counselors and celebration of their outstanding efforts to facilitate the growth and development of the counseling profession and those served. May, 2012 -National Mental Health Awareness Month -National Mental Health Counseling Week -Children's Mental Health Awareness Week TCA Texas Counseling Association joins mental health professionals and orginizations nationwide in celebrating National Mental Health Awareness Month. Recent studies rank Texas 48th in the nation for mental health funding per capita. TCA, in addition to observing National Mental Health Awareness Month, works to educate the public and public policy makers about the importance and responsibilities of professional counselors.
