TCA Conferences and CEU Workshops
The Texas Counseling Association hosts several conferences and continuing education workshops throughout the year for professional counselors and mental health professionals of all types. All conference programs and workshops listed below are eligible for LPC, NBCC, SBEC, LCDC, LMFT, SW, and Psychologist continuing education credits.
ONLINE CEU LIBRARY
The TCA Online Learning Series offers On-Demand webinars and modules over the internet to support the professional development needs of professional counselors in a variety of work settings. Available for TCA members ONLY, the online CEU library contains programs which focus on financial aid and college and career readiness strategies for members in educational settings as well as effective counseling techniques and strategies for members in private practice. Each online program is worth 1.5 CEUs.
STATEWIDE CEU WORKSHOPS
TCA’s 12 Divisions and 32 Chapters offer a variety of CEU workshops during our annual conference interims. Check out the CEU workshop webpage to learn more about individual continuing education opportunities that are taking place around the state. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH CONFERENCE
The annual Professional Growth Conference is TCA’s largest annual conference, held each year in November. The complete four day event draws well over 2,000 people in attendance and is intended for licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, professional school and college counselors, directors of guidance, counselor educators, graduate counseling students, lead counselors and other mental health professionals. The conference generally features 150+ sessions and includes both pre- and post- conference workshops for the complete four day event. Conference topics range from mental health, school and college counseling, counselor education and supervision, to addiction and offender counseling, community and clinical counseling, marital, couple and family counseling, career development and employment counseling, as well as diversity, multicultural and social justice issues in counseling. The Professional Growth Conference is hosted by TCA Texas Counseling Association.
SCHOOL COUNSELOR CONFERENCE
The annual School Counselor Conference is a three day professional development event held each year in February. Intended for school counselors across the education spectrum, the conference offers attendees an extraordinary opportunity to learn innovative and proven techniques for effective school counseling practices as well as explore new trends and issues related to student development and growth. Generally the conference draws more than 1,000 attendees. The School Counselor Conference is co-hosted by TSCA Texas School Counselor Association and TCA Texas Counseling Association.
COLLEGE COUNSELING CONFERENCE
The annual College Counseling Conference is a two day event designed specifically to address the unique interests and continuing education needs of professional college counselors including: those working in college counseling centers, community college counselors, counselors in private practice, rehabilitation counselors, counselor educators and student service personnel, among others. The conference is generally held in June or July. The College Counseling Conference is co-hosted by the TCCA Texas College Counseling Association and TCA Texas Counseling Association.
DIRECTORS OF GUIDANCE CONFERENCE
FUTURE CONFERENCE DATES
The annual Directors of Guidance Conference is a niche event that addresses the needs of directors, coordinators, and supervisors of school counseling programs as well as counselor educators and community professionals who interact with school guidance programs. Held each September, the conference generally attracts 300 people in attendance. The Directors of Guidance Conference is co-hosted by TACES Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and TCA Texas Counseling Association.
