SACS Information

The TCCA SACS Committee has heard back from SACS regarding one of the proposed areas (3.9.3) that relates to student services, and impacts college counselors. SACS met at the their recent meeting this past December, and approved the package as presented, meaning that there were no changes to the proposal, that was suggested. Specifically, section 3.9.3 was changed to reflect new language that states "The institution provides a sufficient number of qualified staff-with appropriate education or experience in the student affairs area- to accomplish the mission of the institution." TCCA believes that SACS has listened to the needs of colleges counselors, and TCCA will continue to advocate for Texas college counselors.
